A colour photograph taken of Sir John Square around 2000. View show's a fall of snow on the ground with the tree's surrounding the square covered in blue festive lighting. Some of these tree's have now been cut down by the Highland Council. The Christmas tree is erected by members of the Highland Council workforce on a annual basis. The square is also used as part of the festive celebration promoted by Thurso Town Improvements Association who run the local gala and a number of other events.
